I am also looking to disable Paste functionality for some questions. Is it possible?

You could consider using the Safe Exam Browser (see here) but that would disable paste for the entire quiz. I should mention I've never tried the safe exam browser myself and it may or may not work with Ace.

I think on recent versions of CR that copy-paste is now disabled. Can anyone confirm?

(It is funny that we are in a different situation. We want our students to use Spyder and copy-paste the code, but our version of CR shows a popup saying copy-paste is disabled.)

No, copy and paste shouldn't be disabled. This sounds like a browser "feature", such as with safe exam browser. Do other question types in the same quiz permit copy/paste? What about if you type ctrl/alt/m to turn off the Ace editor - what happens then?

Dear Richard,
It seems one of the admins enabled the following quiz option: "Extra restrictions on attempt" -> "Browser security" -> "Full screen pop-up with some JavaScript security."
We disabled it and it is now working fine!
Sorry for taking your time. This is the first time we are using CodeRunner and we are very happy with it. :)

No problem! Good to know you're happy again. And I've learnt about try another Moodle feature.
